Watson Lake to Haines Junction

What a GREAT day!!!!!!!!!!!! We made a really good decision to stop yesterday in the rain. Otherwise, we would have missed some really fantastic scenery.

Please notice I didn't start this with OK. I was told that I was doing that with every entry.

Dave and I started out with 3 pictures we HAD to have on this trip to complete our maps: Northwest Territories, Yukon and Alaska. Well, today we got number 2:

What we saw today, words can't describe, so I won't even try. I am just afraid that even the pictures won't do justice to it. But, I'm not going to write much tonight, just let the pictures speak for themselves.

We are about 200 miles from the Alaskan border. From our conversations with the guys coming back south, we will have about 50 miles of some really nasty construction to ride through. Lots of ruts, mud, gravel. All the good stuff. So, we are going to make an early night of it to prepare for it. have to make it through all of it so we can get our last state. When that happens, there will be a picture of the celebration!!!!

If all goes well, we will be in Fairbanks tomorrow night!!!!!

Time to eat. Dave if waiting to make his updates, so I better get off of here..... Later all.

You guys look like you are having a great time. The pictures are beautiful, and I am sure you are right that they don't do it justice. I hope you continue to have good weather and friendly people to visit with. It must be soooo cool to be up there in the wide open country. Please continue to keep us updated and allow me to live vicariously through your posts. Stay safe.

Hey, Noe passed on the blog address. The wife and I have been reading about your progress. I have never understood the whole 'motorcycle trip thing' but think I am starting to understand. Renae used to live in Fairbanks so she has enjoyed reading about your journey as well. BTW, there is a live webcam in downtown Fairbanks that she checks out every now and then. The site is

if you wanted to go there and wave to everyone. haha.

Good luck, with the rest of your trip.
