Mountains!!!!!

kay, the first 3 boring days all became worth it today. We made it to the mountains!!!!!!! We had a great day riding from Banff to Jasper through the parks. Dave took this picture of the yellowheads for Mary Jo. Hope you enjoy it.

Went through Calgary. Stop lights and heavy traffic all the way through. The Stampede is this week and there was a lot of extra traffic. Once we got past Calgary (where we could see themountains in the distance) things got better. Made it to Banff. Very commercial and touristy. Once we left there, it was a beautiful ride up through Banff and Jasper Parks.

We visited the Masonic Lodge in Banff. Here is the sign out front:

Global warming? What global warming? Here is a little snow on July 7th.

Saw our first black bear. He was feeding in the forest. Kinda hard to see.Tomorrow, we should hit the Alaskan Highway!!!!! How exciting. I've been waiting for this for a long time. It will only get interesting from here.

Well, Dave and I have been having a little Irish in our coffee while we have been updating our blogs. If you haven't already, check out his. Time to hang it up for the night. Don't know when we will have access again, but when we do, this will get updated. Talk to you all later.......
